Sola Scriptura

Sola Scriptura

This past Sunday morning Pastor Chris presented a great overview of the solas of the Reformation from over 500 years ago. Today those solas still hold great significance; Scripture alone, grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone and glory to God alone. Any one of these solas would be worthy of an in depth understanding. This week our Ladies Bible Study begins looking carefully at the first sola—Scripture alone (lesson 10). What is so unique about our Bibles from all other writings in the world? Why should we know what it says? Why should we trust the One who wrote it? The answers to these questions never fall into the category of the mundane. They make the difference between having real life and just existing. Study through 2 Peter 1:12-21 before coming to class on Thursday morning and be prepared to be encouraged in loving and living the Word.

Also, please note—you are invited to my house following our study this Thursday for lunch. I’m cooking up a couple of different soups/stews for you along with some delicious bread from Costco. We live just 2 blocks from the church building, so, it is a quick drive.
