BEYOND CHIRSTMAS

As we celebrate the amazing and miraculous birth of Christ, may we never forget that His ultimate plan and goal was to die for us so that we could live forever with Him. 1 John 3:5 “You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.” Take a couple of minutes to listen to this wonderful song by the Ball Brothers;  it gives us a Biblically proper perspective concerning Christmas.

THE FIRST CHRISTMAS

The first Christmas didn't include Christmas trees, or Christmas shopping, or Christmas cards, or
Christmas parties.  Oh no, it was very different from many of our associations with Christmas. You can experience a bit of what the first Christmas might have been like this Saturday or Sunday evening at Discovery Baptist. What a great way to help us engage a bit more with the first Christmas and deepen the spiritual richness of the season.

Luke 2:10-12And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger."
