HERE IS WHAT'S HAPPENING WEEK OF 3/15

Pro 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.”

These days are challenging ones, but we know we have a great God. It is a time for us to draw together as a body and pray seeking God’s direction as the national pandemic unfolds.

Due to the rapidly changing coronavirus situation we will be keeping you up with occasional blog reports like you see here as well as on our websites. On the main website www.discoverybaptist.org the changes will be seen in the white banner at the top of the home page. Look closely so you don’t miss it.

Here is what is happening so far this week.

  • Sunday night 3/15 6 p.m. Prayer Fellowship: We are calling for those who are able and have no signs of illness to gather for a time of prayer at the church. President Trump today called for a day of prayer nationally and we will be observing that. There will be no SALT groups today.

  • Wednesday 3/18 6:30 a.m. Men’s Morning Bible Study: The study will meet as usual in the Fireside Room and taught by Mike Gutherie.

  • Wednesday 3/18 6 p.m. Board Meeting: The board will meet to discuss routine business and possible changes in services as the situation changes. Please pray for our board as we seek God’s direction.

  • Thursday 3/19 9:30 a.m. Ladies Morning Bible Study: Nancy Suko will be teaching the new series on Psalm 23.

  • Friday 3/20 6 p.m. Youth Group: Meets as usual.

  • Saturday 3/21 9 a.m. Men’s Discipleship Breakfast: We will meet for breakast as usual followed by testimonies and Pastor Mark’s interactive teaching on 2 Timothy. If you prefer to eat at home that is no problem. Our specialty coffee stand is available from 7:45 on.

  • Sunday 3/22 10:30 a.m. Morning Worship: This is a ways off so it could change, Attendace today (3/15) was down but worth it. If services are changed, a separate blog will be sent. If our board elects to cancel meeting for worship we will livestream the messages so watch the Livestream at the time of the service and anytime after it is posted.

  • Retreat for Men at Camp Gilead has been cancelled by the camp.

Please check back in case any of these events are cancelled unexpectedly in this rapidly changing situation.

In all cases follow the general precautions if you show any signs of any illness like that caused by the virus. It is always best to stay home in those cases and especially if you are older or have health issues.

If you are feeling well and do attend any event be careful to avoid physical contact, wash your hands often and cough into a kleenex or your arm.

In all things trust the Lord and pray for our country and world. This is a great time to be a witness for Christ as many people are concerned about the future. We know the Lord who holds the future in His hands.
